SUNRISE BEACH, Mo. — X marks the spot at Captain Ron’s this May, and the bounty is for a great cause.
The Pirate’s Plunder on the Beach begins at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 10, at Cannonball Beach, where swashbucklers of all ages will scour the sand in search of hundreds of buried prizes.
Hosted at Captain Ron’s Bar & Grill — and sponsored by LakeExpo, Pirate’s Point, Econolift, Shawnee Bend Sand, and Culver’s — the beachside treasure hunt is equal parts fun and philanthropy, with all proceeds going to local charities through the Laurie-Sunrise Beach Rotary Club.
Everyone with tickets will enjoy frozen custard from Culver’s, free T-shirts from LakeExpo (while they last), and tons of awesome prizes from the treasure hunt.
Some of the prizes this year include a Kayak rigged for fishing and a paddleboard from Eco Fishing, a WetSteps dock ladder, a fish cleaning station from Rough Water Docks, and a Dock Box from The Dock Box Guy, just as a taste.
Several more local businesses have donated cold-hard cash to support the event and Rotary’s mission, including Econo Lift, LakeBuy Realty, Sullivan Bank, and Dream Home Construction.
Registration runs from 2-3 p.m., and the hunt kicks off at 3. Pre-register online for $21 or pay $26 the day of the event Saturday, May 10.
Whether you’re in it for the adventure, the prizes, or just a day on the beach, this plunder is one event worth pillaging your calendar for. It’s fun for the whole family.
